He's in Quesada town next to Sunseekers Real Estate. Walk up the strip past Don Carlos turn left at the Deutsche Bank past Goyos and his shop is straight in front of you.

He's on holiday from the 20th Oct - 7th Nov.

We had NIE numbers about 12 years ago but have lost them.
We bought a property in this area, any suggestions how we start to retrieve them please.
We wish to buy a car in the near future. Thanks

Hi You only need ro renew if you are buying a car! Trafico are the only people that insist it is in date as the NIE No is with you for life.

I always understood that Scuby's advice above was right but I have just noticed that my NIE cert at the bottom says " Este certificado tiene una validez de tres meses" is this usual and is it still valid for non car purchase purposes or do I need to have it renewed ?

If you have the NIE certificate that is only valid for 3 months then it needs to be renewed. The reason they were only given 3 months was because that was the amount of time you had to confirm your status as a resident or non-resident. If becoming a resident, that would be for life and a non-resident for 2 years and both would replace the NIE certificate. If you have a resident or non-resident card then that would suffice for anything you needed the NIE certificate for.
I believe they've gone back to no time limit on the NIE certificate.

I bought a car, using my original NIE, that was valid for 3 months and out of date. I asked the dealer whether I needed to renew it and he looked at me as though I was daft.
He then photocopied it with a blank piece of paper covering the bit that said that it was only valid for 3 months and everything went through without a problem.
