Does anybody know if appointments for residencia are available yet. I believe they were closed for a while. I am over later this month and was hoping to do it.

Sorry but not a snowball in hells chance, delays are as long as ever if not longer.

Even if appointments were available on demand though to apply for residency you need to be demonstrably living here, if you are not then you can't just flit in, do it, and flit out again!

URGENT UPDATE

For those of you who are having difficulty in getting appointments for residency, please take note that Alicante have just announced a new procedure to allow UK citizens to do so.
If you go to the request an appointment page
Request Appointment

Then you must select Alicante province and a new drop down option of EU Police Certificates - Exclusively for the United Kingdom will appear (POLICIA - CERTIFICADOS UE (EXCLUSIVAMENTE PARA REINO UNIDO).

Many appointment have been made available so anyone having trouble should do this straight away.
Remember you need your padron, the application form, your passport and payment receipt).

The above is information from the British consulate in Alicante and is hot off the press but it may not come into operation until later in the week so keep trying.
