I was told to just keep the minimum amount of money in Spanish Banks, rest in UK - talking to Sabadell, they only freeze part of the joint account, as they realise customers will need funds at such a time. Also, spoke with my solicitor and you are given an allowance etc. re inheritance tax/wills, and its something you don't have to do straight away. The Notary in Rojalas change our 'Will' for 40e to amend, where as solicitors charge far too much.

What a nightmare 2 hours later after listening to the BBC and reading several forums I'm completely off Avalon. Golden Leaves seem ok but now I don't know what to do bank the money, insurance, funeral plan?
Iberian seem good and one of the best priced for funeral plans I believe the crematorium actualy offer them cheaper but that is only if you die in Spain, you are covered in the UK with Iberian as long as you tell them you may be in the UK as well.

I recently took out a funeral plan here as it's very sensible to do so as under Spanish law funerals are dealt with very quickly and usually within a couple of days. I went to Avalon a UK company with an office here I was visited at home by a very nice lady who arranged everything. They do have various plans including repatriation and all plans cover you anywhere in Europe they have an office. I can give you the lady's mobile if you want an informal chat I'm sure she'd be happy to do so. I'll PM the number to you
