I have a good insurance policy with Helvetia. A friend recommended them who had cause to use their services and was impressed

Funeral plans are okay ... if you can guarantee the company to still be trading in 30 years time..

I use Generali insurance which pays for the funeral and also helps you through the funeral details of your lost one.. ours is about 30 euros a month for two..If they go bust I won´t lose much, I´ll just move to another company..If Golden Leaves goes bust, you will have to pay another 3,500 euros to another company..

..

Golden leaves...tried and tested, no hassle, no complications, reassuring and comforting service.

No? What about all those 30€ payments? If your insurer goes belly up in, say, 25 years, that's 9000€ down the drain. And by then, an alternative provider's premium will be sky high, especially as now, you'll be twenty five years older. The Actuaries will have a field day.

Whereas with Avalon, your money is held in trust against such an event. My recent 3600€ (per person) purchase appears an eminently more sensible proposition.

Part of buying a plan of any kind is the help you get when one of you dies. It is a stressfull time and people do not think clearly, it is a different system to the Uk and you wull likely need help getting through the system..

Even if the MONEY is held in escrow... will anyone help you through the funeral process..?..
If the company goes under... will anyone actually tell you where the money is?..how to access it in an emergency?... how fast can you access it..?

In the the end it is a personal choice.. but before spending 7,000 euros (for two).. think of, and understand the risks and the alternatives..

that´s all..
