Has anyone had problems cancelling Salus Private Health Insurance?

This is something we will be doing this month. When I enquired I was told I needed to give 30 days notice. I'm interested in what problems you are having if you don't mind sharing.

Apparently you can only cancel at the end of December; ie the policy must be paid until the end of the year.
This is not made clear at the outset. The insured in this case has left the country and Salus are after payment until the end of the year.

My husband died 10 days after his six month advance half year instalment was paid. I did not receive any refund from Salus. However as they had never queried any previous claims, I did not argue. It was a large amount though.
