what do you need to do to cancel your bank home insurance

Send a cancellation notice by recorded post also email them and ask for the cancellation notice to be sent to you
You must give 1 months notice of cancellation
Make sure you cancel the direct debit or standing order

If you're here then the bank should have a form to fill in to cancel it. They must receive it a month before or they'll carry it on.
If you have a mortgage it may be in the contract that you have to use their home insurance even though they can be a lot more expensive than other companies.

I was worried they would want something in writing not speaking Spanish would be a problem was just going to pop in to the bank when I’m over

We just popped into Sabadell in Quesada and cancelled ours with the bank clerk behind the counter. I had to give a phone number for the renewals department to ring me to confirm the cancellation (and try to sell it to me to stay ). On the whole it was pretty easy. I did this a month before the renewal by the way.
