Hi, arriving 14 October to live permanently in Spain and I am going to buy a nearly new Spanish car soon. I am wondering if my existing no claims bonus earned in the UK is relevant when I arrange car insurance? Any info on how it works, do you pay for the car then toddle off to arrange car insurance before picking it up?

We’ve just bought a new car, found second hand very expensive whereas new was good price. Once you know the registration you can get car insurance. They did ask if we had 5 years without a claim but didn’t need proof of no claims. Right move near the arches were great and great price. 130 Euro cheaper than the car dealership were offering. Good luck and welcome.

Hi Angela and Stuart,

All the best with your new chapter in Spain. We are a Liberty expat agency and can help you with a quote for comparison, your no claim bonus from the UK can be fully granted and the insurance be issued as soon as you get the registration number.

Feel free please to contact if interested.

Regards,
Alfonso

Yes, I quite like the look of the sandero stepway, but are they reliable?

We bought a Sandero Stepway (petrol) new in June and have been very happy with it to date. It actually uses the current Renault engine and gearbox etc. so reliability on that front should be OK. Fuel economy is good too.
