UK home insurance, over 60 days?

I feel sure that there must be a lot of UK residents spending the winter in Quesada, who want to insurance their UK property for more than 60 days whilst in Quesada? Any good recommendations as to which insurance companies provide 120+ days unoccupied cover for buildings and contents for their UK home.

Many thanks

I use Home Protect. Not cheap but they insure for 6 months away.

I'll venture a guess that a great many have either never given a thought to the potential issues of their UK property being left unoccupied for prolonged periods or else know the situation but are too tight to pay for proper cover and think that they can blag their way out of it if needs be.

Big mistake either way!

I used to work for an insurance company so always read the small print. You're right, it's a big mistake not to have the proper insurance.

Shop around same as normal UK cover, some good ones with good cover, Just check what cover you want/need, some of them ask if you have someone regularly checking the property. https://www.money.co.uk/home-insurance/ ... urance.htm

Surely you should insure your property all year round. It's a permanent structure and still vunerable when you're not there i.e.flooding

Isn't 120+ days a moot point now? 90 days will be the limit after 31st Jan?

Of course but most annual policies will have limitations on how long a property can be left unoccupied which can be as little as 30 days.
