When my yorkie was a puppy he was the same barked and went mad when I left the room or went out.
So whenever I could I would pretend to leave, by opening and shutting door in kitchen and front door just going in and out and then getting a little longer over a period of time, and giving a treat on coming back in. It took a few weeks but it cured him.
He is nine now I can tell he doesn't really like being left, however he doesn't bark or yelp, it just takes time and patience I really hope he can be calmed. It's a shame he probably is fearful as thinking no one will want him again......I am very sentimental sorry. Good luck

Hi, re Killer, we have NOT left him alone at all, it is when my wife goes out, indoors or at home with us he is a great little dog. I have had him at home when my wife goes out for 2 hours, he is highly stressed and barks continuesly, I cuddle him talk to him, have music on, or try not to take notice of him, he sits on my lap and sleeps while we are both here, but the main problem is our original ( rescue dog) is so placid. It is starting to affect him.Tony.

Ah sorry Tony, yes I see your problem, it's great that you are trying everything you can for Killer, I hope that he is ok soon, and you can all settle, or someone else

Sorry, I understand how you must feel.

What a shame - He sounds like he has become attached to your wife and you are both enjoying having him - We just don't know what goes on in their minds, poor little thing - I can imagine it can't do him, you or your other dog any good if he is so distressed, when your wife goes out. It must be quite upsetting!

Seems the boy is very insecure/spoiled he clings to women more as they probably dote on him more.
He needs time, work and commitment.
I hope someone can give him that. A few weeks is just not enough for him to adapt and to learn
I will have to collect him and probably have to take him back to a rescue.
If there is anyone at all that can help him that would be wonderful.

Excuse me Peartree but that doesn't look like the first Yorkshire terrier you put on the sight , named killer , it appeared to be much smaller I do hope this is not a scam, just concerned. If I'm wrong I do not wish to offend.
