The local Lira band is holding a concert, 'Palindromia', on Sunday 19th November at 8pm at the Rojales theatre in honour of the patron saint of music, Santa Cecilia.
With guest appearances by Sofia Sanchez dancers and singer, Javier Ramon.
Looks like it is free entrance.

It is one of the 2 marching bands of the town - so brass, woodwind, drums, etc. - but not limited to marching music of course and has been going for more than 100 years.
Their website is http://www.laliraderojales.es/lalira/inicio
I guess that they think no more info is necessary as they are so well known in the town.

Yes, I suppose so..

It the last meeting with Derek Monks he told us he had been asked by Rojales to mention to the foreigners that they would like them to attend more of the towns activities...

But if they want more people to attend. another line on the poster would, I am sure, increase numbers..

Not everyone has a "Martin the Artist" to ask...

I don't know if anyone else went, but I thought it was an amazing concert and all free and the theatre was almost completely full.
The band played various types of dance music with passion - Paso Doble, Zarzuela, Tango, Boleros, flamenco... - they had a guest tenor who made my hair stand on end - difficult as I don't have much! - when he sang 'Granada', and then Sofia Sanchez group danced an arabesque too! (Absolutely brilliantly as usual.)
Thank you Rojales Ayuntamiento!
