Definitely not a bonsai tree. I have plants like that in pots but have no idea what they are called.

The Definition of a BONSAI TREE is " a term for ALL MINATURE trees in containers or pots" They are kept MINATURE by using small pots and or trimming roots and branches. So please refer to my original posting.

I was well aware of what a Bonsai tree is
Might be a good idea to post another photo of the plant from the side

Rather than not bothering..why not post another photo, as the top view may look totally different than a view from the side showing the trunk? It is difficult to identify a tree from a birds eye view, even a mini tree.

Think this is a ginkgo biloba seedling ...i very large tree but can be grown and trained to be a bonsai over many years ...it is one of the oldest recorded tree species that has been growing on our planet.
