Having removed an Olive tree and a Bougainvillea, we have two stunps to kill off. The stumps are 40cm and 35cm in width respectively. Can anyone recommend the best product to buy and the best way to apply this?

You’d be better-off getting someone to dig them out for you. If they were bigger then a stump grinder may be worth using - if you could get access for the machinery to the area where the stumps are, but for something that size it’s not worth it.
Labour is cheap in Spain, so just pay someone for a few hours work to dig around them with a pick axe and a shovel.

Thanks Pete. As we're not ready to prepare the area for anything else just yet and thought digging would disturb the liner too much beneath the shingle, destroying the root was the short term plan. Really appreciate your advice though, we might just end up having them dug out!

You can ask in the Garden Centres to recommend something for killing off the roots. The one on the left as you go into Los Montisemos is very helpful.

Some people say that drilling holes and pouring diesel in to them is the way to go. Diesel is nasty stuff and I personally wouldn’t take that approach. Copper nails is another popular one, but not sure if it really works.
