The Department of Agriculture in Alicante are very particular about who can remove these palms.
We have 3 certificates for removal, loading and offloading these palms.
Be careful who you employ to do the job. It can result in a 3,000€ fine for the non-certified contractor, and also a 3,000€ fine for the householder. Also, you need to see the contractor's licence of insurance, to ensure that he has the correct cover for operating on your premises. Some of these big phoenix Canariensis palms can weigh 3 - 4 tons, so be warned that a serious accident can happen and you need the relevant insurance to be in place.
We do not sell treatments for affected palms. We are not convinced of their effectiveness. On numerous occasions, we have been called to remove dead palms that have been "treated" and have subsequently died. The distressed home owner finds that they have had to pay twice.
One last thing - you should check that your contractor is registered and pays his Autonomo (Self employed Insurance contributions). Again, if the police appear on the job, they will ask for everybody's papers.
You will find our details on the adverts that appear on the left hand side of the forum announcements.
Good luck.
