Insect infestation

I have lived in Spain for 25 years and have come across most insects in that time. However in the last fortnight, a large number of very tiny round seed-like insects are appearing on work tops and cupboards in my kitchen. I really did think they were black seeds until they moved. I have checked in packets etc but just cannot find a source and despite cleaning up, spraying etc, they are reappearing. Any suggestions would be welcome.

We had them... loads of the little blighters. We finally tracked them down to a bag of cat biscuits they were living in... millions of them...

We threw the bag away, cleared the whole area, put Oro down and ant powder..then every few days we sprayed with fly spray for a couple of weeks... and they didn´t come back... so far..
and that was four years ago...

We didn´t have the "rento-kill" man in Rojales then...

Good luck---
.

This sounds like the little horrors I have now. So far, I have thrown away any open cereals and checked other foodstuffs but , as yet, have not found the source! Will go on checking all the cupboards and using plenty of spray! Thank you for your advice, Mondo.

I don´t know, maybe... but the rascals we had were so small you can´t tell without a microscope..

We had them 2 years ago. They seemed to have been living in the wall?! That’s where they seem to have been coming from anyway. We just kept spraying, cleaning, wiping down etc and eventually they went away. Make sure to have no open packets of biscuits etc around and wipe away any crumbs immediately. Use lots of “Tupperware” containers.
