Hi ive just bought a chilli plant is it best to keep it indoors or outside thankyou ...

Mine were planted in large tubs outside last summer and overwintered there too. This year they fruited but didn’t yield as much as last year or, plants bought from the market this spring

Outside is fine, but keep it in a sheltered spot just in case. We have two plants, both grown from seed from Sainsbury’s Thai Birdseye chilies. The plants are about 7 yrs old now and fruit every year with plenty of water and a weekly feed.

We overwintered a number of chilli plants outside last year, just fleeced them in the coldest January nights. A couple pegged out but a Scotch bonnet survived fine and is thriving this year. So did a Fatali Jigsaw. We hope to overwinter several ' superhots' this year ( right now they are just at the point of producing lots of fruits) and will have some outside in sheltered spot and some inside ...
