Just saw this sign on the window of the Mercadona supermarket in Rojales - Closed 7th and 9th October 2013 and only open for half a day on the 12th October 2013 :

Jan though we've just returned from La Marina from Lidl's, Mercadona & Iceland. I swear I'm not going shopping for at least another week.

I'm not sure what time the half day is, as it didn't say, but as long as shopping is done in the morning it's better than not knowing and going there later on and finding it closed.

Not sure also about the other Mercadona's but it might be safe to say that they could also be closed or have a half day, especially on the 12th October as it is a National Bank Holiday ( Red Day).

I will see what Consum are doing in the next few days - I seem to remember a check-out sign saying they were closed on the 12th but will confirm shortly.

the 7th is Rojales only closed as its the patron Saints day but all closed on 9th as its Valencia day. Mike
