Recently moved to the area, my wife and I are keen to get out and about and meet new people. I wondered if there is anyone out there who plays squash or tennis..?

I am just retired, although quite fit, I haven't played for a wee while, but keen to get out and have a knockabout with either. I am going to get down to the squash courts in Guardamar to see what they have going on there. I believe there are tennis courts available to use on Ciudad Quesada.

Look forward to hearing from you if you are keen to get in touch and go from there.

Hi Tam, I used to play Squash & Racketball regularly in the UK, but am too old now and stick to golf. I only stay in Spain 3-4 months a year, but the reason I am responding is that I do notice people playing 'Padel Tennis', which seems quite popular. One of my neighbours often said he and his wife regularly played tennis, but they were actually playing Padel Tennis using the two courts at Vistabella. They were part of a group having regular get togethers and also taking lessons. I do believe you can hire the special racquets. Being fenced in, it seems to be a game to suit all levels.
In addition, one of our friends plays at a Badminton club, so if you struggle to get Squash or Tennis courts both Padel Tennis and Badminton might be good alternatives to consider.
Bowls is also quite popular.
I try to get out on my bike when I can. It is very popular in Spain. If you live on El Raso, then there are plenty of roads on the urbanisation where you can safely ride until you are confident to take to the main roads. If you needed bikes then there is Cycological near the Arches in Quesada, another cycle shop between Quesada and Benijofar and Decathlon at Zenia Boulevard.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards
Graham

Hi Graham thanks for that and I will investigate the paddle tennis and badminton and see how I get on with that. Hopefully I will get involved quite soon as I do miss the game but thanks for your input and advice. Tam

Hi I recently moved here too, I played squash in UK but haven't bought my racquet's with me, not sure if you can hire them or maybe even buy one?? I would love a game, not sure where to play, let me know if you find out and I would be happy to have a knock about. :-)
