Hi

New to this site, looking to move early 2020 from Scotland. We don't speak Spanish and will be looking at schooling for our 7 year old. Can anyone recommend a school? Or would an international school be the best way for our son to settle in? Costs?

Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated. The final decision on where to settle depends on this.

Thank you Gina

Hi Gina were Doug & Fay & have been here in Quesada now for 8 years & used to live in bonny Dundee its fantastic living out here so healthy & relaxed way of life & very friendly. Thats why we would recomend it to anyone. We cant help with info on Schools but from what weve seen the kids are picked up by bus & taken from there area & taken & returned to school we know local kids that went to the local Spanish school & they settled in quite quickly & soon picked up the Spanish language. If you need any help just ask & in & around Dona Pepa & Quesada theres loads to see & do & plenty of shops Supermarkets Bars & Restaurants & you dont need to be able to speak Spanish as 90% of the area speaks English.

We moved at the end of May, we live on Lo Crispin and my 9 year old son goes to the Spanish school in Algorfa. He spoke very little Spanish, learning on Duolingo but is coming on leaps and bounds at school, really enjoys it and has made friends both English and Spanish. He plays football for a Norwegian team so various nationalities there and is due to start at a golf academy so his Spanish is getting better. I was really anxious putting him into a Spanish school obviously due to the language but it was the best decision, he loves it. We were recommended Algorfa School by our Estate Agents but we were also looking at the area El Raso and the school in Guardamar has good reviews too, obviously I cant’t comment on the others in the area. the schooling at present is free but god knows what is gonna happen with Brexit. If you need any advice at all regarding the medical that is required for schooling, paperwork etc be more than happy to help.
