Hi all, my wife and I arrived in Algarve Portugal August 1st from New Forest South of UK but have travelled into Spain 3 weeks ago and will be coming to Quesada next week.

Quesada is our chosen area to settle. We are both active in sport. Trisha my wife is a runner regularly running 25 to 30 miles per week and would like to be involved with a running club in the area (Any information welcome). I have always played football and left UK playing for a vets team and would like to be involved with a football club in the area (Any information welcome).

I would be grateful for your replies
Kev

Hello. Is there any possibility to share any information about women's running groups and especially weightlifting if any exist.

Currently I do these by myself so I would really appreciate joining any groups that might exist.

Hi,
I don't know of any womens running groups ( I also run solo) but do know that Guardamar and Torrevieja have running groups. If you Google you'll find their websites. Happy running:)

Hi Kevan,

Welcome to the area. I originate not too far from the New Forest (Soton lad).

I cannot specifically answer your questions but have certainly seen female running groups in the area (big group running near the Water park) so there must be some clubs. My partner is a regular runner but tends to do so solo. She adores running in El Recorral park of a morning. If your wife likes trail running its highly recommended as a beautiful place to head.

As for football, pop in to Bar Esquina and ask at the bar. They certainly used to run a team and used to play weekly on the sports ground between Quesada and Rojales. Good bunch of lads. I should try and get back to playing myself when work is less hectic.

Yes, I know it relatively well. I used to do the Bransgore Bash mountain bike race in the early 1990s and my father owned a beach hut down Mudeford so we were in the area regularly. Have to say I found that one of the more chilled parts of the UK but nonetheless enjoy Quesada. It can be as stressful or as stress free as you make it!

Having moved about a bit Bransgore was the nicest place we ever lived but work stress made us pack up and try uor luck here. We Will try and get some work but nothing intense. More recently there has been trials riding in Bransgore behind the caravan site but mountain and road cycling very popular in the area. I think I read something about esquina Park previously? so will try the bar.

I come from Bransgore too! Lived in the village for 25 years and my son still lives there.
