Jan,
I think the UK goverment pays Spain for treating it's pensioners and EHIC work. I think a Conservative government may find it difficult to explain to vindictive papers like the Express and Mail how that will continue when it's not legally obliged to.

I agree with Flori that the House of Lords needs reforming but an elected house only means more politicians and would probably result in a minority party have the balance of power
This is the current scenario in Australia where a racist, zenophobic, partly illiterate woman has more pull than she would normally warrant
A house of review is, I belive, far preferable but we don't need lords, maybe a senate with senators but made up of non political people from industry, education, science, medicine fields etc
There job description should be as now ie to review only

The problem with UK, NhS and free health cre for EU citizens has been exposed as a UK scandal insofar as UK don't recharge the other EU countries for the health care and are losing millions as a result.
This was exposed last March by Sky News in an interview with MP John Mann.
MP John Mann, who obtained the figures in a parliamentary question, told Sky News that "logically the UK should be receiving more than it pays out".
He estimates "the real cost is a billion pounds a year".
Mr Mann told Sky News: "Other countries are recharging and we are not.
"The figures are astonishing - we are paying them 70 times more than they are paying us.
"We are paying our bills and they are not paying theirs - because the British NHS is not recharging them.
"There is meant to be a comparable system in place - but it is not being applied in this country and that means we are losing out.
"Every single country is winning against us, be it the super-efficient Swedes or Germans, or countries like Malta or Greece.
"It's a huge scandal."

The following article by the BBC which seems mostly unbiased [for a change] makes interesting reading and will answer a lot of questions...the truth of the matter is no one really knows,it depends on team Brexits negotiating skills

We really can't blame other EU countries for not paying their bills if the NHS can't be bothered charging them. Personally I think it needs the introduction of SIP type cards in the UK.

The BBC, IS, impartial.

However, if, in it's reporting, it conflicts with your views then it's biased.

It's as simple as that.

And its nothing to do with the EU. The fact is we don't have the inclination or the wits to recoup the money other EU countries do-not sure that brexit negotiations have anything remotely to do with it.
