Scottish independance

SNP members seem as passionate about an independent Scotland as I am about Brexit.
I am also passionate about democracy, and although Scotland has had a referendum, I think that it is right and fair that they have another, as circumstances have changed, and both sides must honour the results.
Personally, I like the union as I liked the Commonwealth, though it does make me smile…If the nicest of nice English people were playing the very nasty Nazi dog torturers at football, without a doubt the Scottish, Irish and Welsh would be cheering on the dog torturers…that is the way it works, people seem to forget that your repressors also repress their own people.
So good luck with you dream of independence, if you get your result I along with many other English people will support it.
What I want to know [and this is a genuine question] can Scotland go it alone? As of 1230 today the UK is officially OUT of the EU and the only way we can get back in is if all members agree. So if Scotland gains its independence it will be divorced from the UK and the EU. Spain has stated categorically that they will not accept an application from Scotland, so I am wondering if Scotland is able to make it on their own, and if by some chance you were able to join the EU surely that would be changing one master for another.
Would it not be better to try and ratify the deal [s] between Holyrood and Westminster, I know very little about these things, but I would like to hear the forums opinions

Personally, I think it's a matter for the Scottish people to decide without any 'helpful' advice from us English.

Please get your facts right. At 12:30 the UK will formally give notice of its intention to leave the EU, at a date to be agreed. It will remain a member of the EU until exit negotiations are complete, which could be around 2 years away, or longer if the other member States agree.

For the time being, the UK is still part of the EU and UK citizen's rights within Spain and other EU countries remain unchanged.

Pete.

Im sorry but I disagree,we trigger article 50 .that tells the EU we are leaving, we then have two years to negotiate terms of our departure...that is my understanding, if you can point me to an official document that says otherwise, I would be grateful.

No! The UK has triggered article 50, but is still a member of the EU until the negotiations have concluded! So simple, why can't you understand that?
