We always drive down with a few boxes of Daz washing powder in the boot.She won't use anything else.The price difference between Spain and the UK buys a tank full of diesel which covers over half the trip.

Decent toilet paper - we do an overnighter in Madrid and buy bulk in Costco.

My electric blanket. We brought a new one which cost a lot more out here. We never thought we would need it here but the nights are colder than we expected. I also brought a slow cooker here but I still miss the one I had in the UK. Bring your freezer with you as they are expensive here too even second hand ones. Oh and Gold Blend Coffee - if you can find it here, its very expensive. I just brought back 4 large bags when I returned to the UK last week. Good luck

Duvets we gave all ours to friends cost a fortune over here,boveril cubes vanilla pods and my butchers block!!

We got ours in Primark, and they were very reasonably priced. I think it was less than €20 for a double.

On the subject of bedding, European sizes are slightly different to old UK sizes, but thanks to Ikea we’ve become used to not really knowing where we are with bedding sizes.
It’s easy enough to buy bedding to fit whatever size bed/mattress you buy over here (assuming that’s what you do) but pillows and pillowcases are a bit of a different story.
Spanish pillows are a completely different size and shape to UK pillows and if you like what you have now then consider bringing them with you.
Ikea in Spain don’t sell the same sizes of pillowcases that they do in the UK.
You can buy UK size pilllows and pillowcases in Spain, at places like Yorkshire Linen, but you’llpay a premium.

As you’ve probably gathered, it gets cold in Spain in winter , hence the discussions about electric blankets and duvets. It obviously also gets very hot in summer, so you’ll want a very light cover on the bed - either a sheet or a lightweight quilted cover. The important thing is to use something that has a high cotton content, as it wicks away the perspiration better than synthetic materials.
So, take a look at your existing bedding and choose carefully what to bring and what to leave behind.

Where do you go? JYSK in Quesada, the Bedding Box in Torrevieja (and a stall on Zoco market) and Primark in La Zenia all do British bedding sizes, pillows, cases, quilts etc and at reasonable prices. Definitely not at a premium.

I'm not a fan of Primary but the duvets and quilts are brilliant. As said 10 euros for a double quilt, bought 3 a few weeks ago, almost as cheap as having one washed at the laundry. Well made and warm for Spanish winter
