Maybe it's me - but I think the chance of finding someone, who wants to share your house, in your specific location in the UK, that you in turn want to share their property in Spain, wishing to come back and forth in the exact designated time frame you do - is statistically, unlikely - IE not very many people at all - will need some real luck.

You are trying to circumnavigate something that has been deliberately put in place, to not make this situation simple for non-residents. I also also have concerns legally, that you could find yourself with an alternative headache when some old couple decided they want to squat in your UK property as can't sell their property in Spain - there's quite some potential vulnerabilities on this - as you have to have 100% trust on both parties.

I don't think this is realisitic or likely to happen - i've seen mentions of this before Brexit with house type shares & don't think i've yet to see anyone pull this off (which is why I suggested buying a cheap flat in Spain). I'm sure someone has, but i've never seen any evidence or this working, in 15 years of being on various local forums.

Maybe if you had established friends already and have a bond of trust (and both parties were happy with both locations in the UK), then this could be viable? But its a long shot - I wish you luck. It only takes one person? Just watch your back on this - as you may well leave yourself unintentionally exposed.

Sorry, not meaning to have an argument or disagree with you as such - just giving you what I believe is a realistic opinion - above all else, you must make sure that legally you are 100% safe.

What you are wanting to do is not possible as you can not spend 6 months in Spain the most would be 90 days in any 180 days

I agree you can't do 6 months at a time without Residencia - but you can do 2x3monthso.
I also agree it might be difficult to find another person whose preferred dates dont clash with mine.
But I think it's worth finding out. Maybe somebody else feels the same way. 8

I suppose it could work date wise.... Split winter & summer so that you have Feb to April, May to July, August to October and November to January.

That would give a Feb to April (low season) and August to October (summer) for one person.
Then May to July (summer) and November to January (low season) for the other person. This would allow each to retain non resident status.

However, I think you'll struggle to convince someone to take all the responsibility of ownership while you lease?/rent? the required periods.

Glad you explained it - so much better than I could. OK so that's the theory can we convert that to practicality?

Unless people are able to enter into that type of agreement occupying property out here will become prohibitive either on ownership basis or a rental basis.

I suppose there is a possible option of shared ownership - just a variation on a theme.

why not look a good aparthotel and book the period you want through them
