Would that be all immigrants are Expats? Or Naturalised Citizens?

I think only British people call themselves expats, can’t imagine Irish ☘️ or Scandinavians calling themselves that.
I’m a European.

When we were working in other countries we were considered expats - the underlying meaning being that we weren't there permanently. Immigrant seems to have taken on a somewhat negative shade, probably thanks to various media.

We just call ourselves residents. If there's a need to explain further we explain that we're here to stay.

But I agree with the majority of the other responses here - IMO it really doesn't matter, life's too full of good things to worry about labels.
