The quarantine is designed to protect people at home from the possibility of a tourist carrying the virus back with them. You are told to stay at home for 2 weeks to prevent any possibility of this happening.
Not ideal but wouldn’t you feel dreadful if you had caught the virus and passed it on to some unfortunate person with health issues? It’s easier to live with yourself knowing you did the right thing.
If everyone returning from Spain adopted the attitude of ignoring the rules, we could end up with a country in ruins. Let’s not do that....please,

Please folks, wherever you are, just follow the rules, whether it be quarantining, mask wearing, social distancing.

If we all do as we are asked then we will all be better off for it.

A small price to pay for our movement across borders.

Good post, we are on DAY 10 of self isolation, after returning from Spain a week last Sunday. Roll on the weekend.

I would expect at some point before actually arriving in UK travellers would be required to complete some sort of landing card which would ask where you'd been, lying would be both inadvisable and morally wrong.

My daughter just flew back to uk this morning. She complete her form but no one was asked for it when entering uk. So there is no traceability. If this quarantine was really needed rather than a way of stopping holidaymakers spending their money in spain these forms would be critical. Shame on you Boris

Returning to Spain on Friday. Spain has got contact info needed on line now. Just found out from EasyJet.
