[*]The unnamed woman was inside the animal's cage when it mauled her
[*]Police and ambulance were called but the worker was already dead
[*]An investigation was launched by bosses at Terra Natura de Benidorm

Too late. It was "euthanased". A wild beast killed for being a wild beast.

A dreadful human loss, but as has been indicated I'm not entirely sure that the animal should lose it's life.
Wild animals are kept in captivity (un-naturally) and when they behave in a "natural" way they suffer the consequences.
Just to court public opinion I suppose.

Urgh, humans are such jerks. The tiger didn't do anything wrong. Why is that killing an innocent animal is always our reaction when some moron gets attacked? It's a freaking tiger and it's not like it would be able to escape its cage and go on the hunt again! Just learn to properly keep people out

I believe she was one of the keepers. However, there must be a safer way of cleaning it's cage than getting in there with it. Let's face it, you wouldn't put a bleeding hand into a tank full of piranhas to change the gravel would you? There has got to have been human error or over-confidence there somewhere, which cost a beautiful and rare animal it's life.
