Hi, I am shortly going into Elche Vinalopo Hostpital for open heart surgery. Does any body know of a nursing organisation that can offer post op care and support. I am pensioner and live on my own.

I was talking to a lady the other day... she had just lost her husband to cancer... she was English.... she was very appreciative of the care she received from the Spanish system, especially Torrevieja hospital at this very sad time.

She told me that the home support she received by nurse visits to her husband was exceptional... she told me " donĀ“t believe what you hear about poor home support by the Spanish system... they looked after my husband right up to the end....they have a department in Torre hospital dedicated to home visits and support"

I must admit that was not what I had heard... so it seems home care is available for patients.

..

Thaks for your reply. Doctor told me I needed to arrange it myself, but this is Vinalopo in Elche so may be different

Contact Cunningham Nurses. They could help but you would have to pay as their charity visits only cover terminally ill people.
