Aghhh.. I feel sorry for you..

When I had it my doctor told me to take anti inflamatories (Ibuprofen).. then after about 3 or so weeks it just vanished..

I don't know whether is was because of the tablets or despite them, but it went after a few painful weeks.

..

Try the physios at Mejorate in Los Montesinos. They speak English and it's 25 euros for 3/4 hour appointment. The clinic is in the very last road on the right going through Montesinos and they are now building on the campo opposite. Highly recommended. Call 966 721 687 or 650 409 877 for an appointment.

I use Naproxen although you can no longer buy it over the counter in Spain, you have to get it on prescription from the doctor. Likewise with Gaberpentin, although I don't know if that actually helps me much.

I get sciatica and go to a masseur. He tells me that the nerve gets trapped in the muscle group that works the thighs and lower legs etc. Had it last week for 4 days and he got rid of in one massage session. Speaks English, Spanish and Finnish. Juha Vaananen 656 698 743. 40€ for 90min full body massage. Also on Facebook.

I was going to explain how sciatica is caused, but you probably know that already, and if not, you can read about it on the net anyway. once you know that, then you may understand the use of an inversion table. a simple flat bench that is split in the middle, that you lay on, and adjust with your hands to put your self on a slight incline, to help release the pressure on the bones and discs in your back, which in turn relieves pressure on the nerves that cause you the pain. you can get these tables from around £60 upwards, so ends up much cheaper than several visits to a chiropractor. for best results, use last thing at night, after you have done absolutely everything else you would normally do right before bed. the reason is, if you use this bench to relax on for 20 to 30 minutes, and then roll right on to your bed, you get full benefit of everything in your back being relaxed and spaced out, allowing things to heal, rehydrate, and repair them selves before you get up in the morning. you should see some benefit in just a few nights use, then just use as and when you need to.

I could waffle on for ages, but I wont, hopefully you will understand the science of what Im talking of and realise its worth trying. but that's up to you. good luck.
