Indeed. Benjy seems obsessed and starts a topic a day on the issue. Incredible really that the government listen to the virologists and not the experts on here.

The reasons as to why infection rates are where they are in the UK have been covered several times but for the hard of thinking the focus lies only on the case numbers and ignores why they are where they are and, most importantly, the hospitalisation rate/capacity and the death numbers. The obsession with masks is another amusing side note as though it creates some magical barrier.

. Ok, on the subject of masks. SOMETHING is working in Spain, NOTHING is working in the U.K. we wear masks in confined spaces, the U.K. does not. There has to be a clue in there somewhere. Also, it’s a pity the government don’t listen to the doctors who probably know better and who say that some precautions need to be taken. P. S. Nice to know that you are ‘enjoying’ my posts.

Trouble is Half of the population are ferrol and wont do as they are told.Any sane person can see that by the numbers in the UK compared to the rest of the world throughout the whole of the pandemic.
Masks and social distance is needed and simple but the Government know that half the population will refuse and there is nothing the Police can do about it.Fine them then they get told its illegal to fine them.
Lives rae being lost again but the economy is doing great and that will be great for votes for Boris!

Most of “MichaelC”‘S post are spot on. Plus, not that every one is herded into a nursing home just for the sake of it, they are there because they are unable to cope, reaching the end of their lives, not fit and healthy as they once was, reduced immune systems. This is something that all of will face one day. So the fact is although covid got the blame for their deaths, is a cheap cop out. it didn’t help, but its ridiculous to say PPE and bad management helped, it didn’t!! We have to die of something, I’ve said it before, if covid doesn’t contribute, if you are at such a poor stage of health, and although there will be the exceptions of a healthy person being overcome by covid, you will die of something no matter what.
It’s long over due to get back to normal, wear a mask if you feel the need, take precautions if you feel the need, all the protection is out there. Other than that, the stats just don’t add up, yes covid is out there, but even if it is worse than any other bug we’ve encountered, it has not killed any where near as many as the other contributing health conditions have.

It seems to me that the last three tory govts have been the most corrupt & inept administrations in living memory. This present excuse for a govt led by a buffoon has to be the world beating worst, lucky for them they are not in Brazil. They are a total embarrassment.
