I got a call a few weeks ago to have a shingles vaccination, which I've now had (yesterday, and me arm's killing me). I'm 65, and my husband is 70, but he's not been called for one. Does anyone know if other age groups will be offered it?

TIA

Yes, I had the shingles jab 4 weeks ago and I had absolutely no problem with it, no side effects, no pain, no bruising, didnt feel a thing, yet in the passed I have had very slight problems with flue and covid jabs, you must have been unlucky, tell your husband to go for it, my wife had shingles a few years ago and she was extremely ill with it for 5 weeks, and lost half a stone in weight as a result, so any small problem is better than that.

Thanks, yes, certainly glad I had it. Just wondered if my husband will be offered it - he hasn't heard anything.

I had shingles 5 years ago very badly in my head.
Seemed to go in 2 weels, but then - BAM!
I had post herpes neuralgia meaning without warning I had extreme pain in the head.
This gradually dropped off but the blisters returned and are still there & am in constant pain.
Docs say they can do nothing :(
So I would definitely recommend having the injection if you are offered it!

Sorry to hear that Martin - sounds awful for you. I have a relative who had it in his eye - you can imagine what that was like! My injection site is badly inflamed now, but sounds like it'll be well worth it!
