Talking of bins I notice a sign on one of them (for glass) that you have to use after 8pm.

Can someone please advise if this is mandatory, applies to all bins and if you can be fined if you don't adhere to this.

Many thanks.

Are you sure? The ones by us say use only between certain times which are during the day and not at night time. They have a picture of a clock on the bins with the hours to use it in green. Not sure but I think it is 8am to 8pm (but could be later).

Just the normal bins which say after 8pm during the summer months.

Not that anyone around here ever sticks to those hours and rubbish is put in at all times of the day. If you go at 8pm in the summer when all the visitors are here the bins will already be overflowing.

The requirement to deposit rubbish in the bins after 8p.m. has always been so. It’s designed, so as to not leave rubbish out in the heat. Although, of course, it depends on other’s obeying, which they don’t.
