Whilst Rojales has one of the best model Belens in Spain, up the road in Elche, they have a living Belen.
With actors recreating the area of the time with shops and demonstrations and Mary & Joseph and a real baby too.
The 'living belen' is staged beside the castle in the old town and is free and open to visit on the following days & times:-
  • 25th December from 12.00 to 14.00 - Inauguration
  • 29th December from 12.00 to 14.00 & 18.00 to 21.00 - slaughter of the innocents 12.00, 13.00, 19.00, 20.00
  • 30th December from 12.00 to 14.00 & 18.00 to 21.00
  • 6th January from 11.00 to 14.00 - arrival of the 3 kings
I took the photos below a few years ago on the day the 3 kings arrived.
