I quite fancy a drive up to Valencia.

Any recommendations on what to visit, and also what to do about parking?

A friend of mine suggested parking at Valencia Sud Metro station and going in to the centre by train, which I guess seems sensible if parking in the centre is difficult.

to be honest Id use the train , parking in city is difficult.
you could park at San Isadro station ,
local train to Alicante then onward to Valencia.
ive done this a few times without problem or hassle. its a beautiful city and their
metro system is easy to use .

Out of interest...what's the best way to purchase advanced rail tickets?

I've looked on a couple of sites such as Renfe and Omio, but either tickets don't seem to be available yet, or the site comes back saying that the only daily trip from San Isidro to Alicante is at 18:12!

Think I read post offices do rail tkts now and travel agents do at a small fee

We’ve driven and parking is difficult but a nice drive up, we’ve parked luckily on the street but last time paid for parking in a carpark near the apartment we stayed in
