We went to La Perla Roja again recently with friends and as usual the meal and service was lovely. It isn't the cheapest set meal around by a long chalk but it is delicious with good choices in a great setting.

It's 16.95 euro which includes beer/ soft drink or half bottle of wine per person.

The set meal includes bread & little dishes of home made alioli & olive relish as a small pre-starter. Then there's a good choice of starters (see the website below), two of us had the oven baked spicy mince wrap with cheese sauce - Our friends had the Deep fried goats cheese on a green salad with orange, honey and walnuts - both were delicious!

I then had the oven baked chicken fillet with dry cured ham, mozzarella cheese and cream sauce and the other 3 had pan fried steak with pepper sauce which has a small price supplement. It looked to me like a fillet steak and was very tender. All were served with vegetables and a choice of mash or fries, separately served.

For dessert one of us had the hot apple cake, vanilla sauce and ice cream, two (including me) had the Tiramisu with coffee sauce and vanilla ice cream and one had the toffee banana crumble with whipped bream and chocolate. All were lovely.

The menu and further details are on the website. Booking appears to be essential as it is not a very large restaurant.

Address : Calle Zeus, 4 - 03170 Rojales (It's in a road inside the golf course itself)

Hi Guys, we went there last Thursday night for the first time. We didn't see the price going in but we noticed some portions of the menu had extra charges. I started with the crab and prawn salad, very nice but I prefer the real crab rather than the re-constituted variety. Kathy had the satay chicken which was lovely. I had the skewered lamb and Kathy had the steak which were delicious. the real highlight was the dessert which was their version of a Mojito. Think of a Mojito with a lemon sorbet and melted ice cream, one of the best desserts I have ever had. the total bill including the supplements and a bottle of wine was 42 euro. Superb value. Service was excellent especially our waitress Esther.

Went for a meal to La Perla Roja last night.

It's in a class of its own. By far and away, the best meal I have had over here. The fillet of steak was as tender as anything, and done to perfection.

Looking forward to my next visit already :D
