We had lunch last Sunday at The Clubafter seeing an advert for it in a local freebie paper. It was our first time of going there although we have been to Quesada Country Club next door a few times in the past mainly for coffee or a beer.

We decided on the 2-course meal deal which was €10.50 each, we also had 2 very large glasses of rose wine which cost €5 for the two. You go up to the carvery counter and choose your meat, we both chose the roast beef but there was pork, turkey, gammon and lamb as well. You help yourself to the veg and there was a great choice, crispy roast and mash potatoes, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower cheese, beans, roast parsnips, and a couple of others which I cant recall. There were Yorkshire Puddings, gravy and a range of sauces too. In fact it was just like a typical British carvery but with more veg choice.

It was beautifully cooked and we both demolished everything we had put on our plates - most unusual for me as my eyes are normally too big for my belly. We just about had room for dessert, I had Knickerbocker Glory and husband had Trifle which were also lovely.

The setting isnt the most luxurious but there was a woman singing all afternoon who was good, with the usual background type of songs and it was fairly well attended with people coming and going the whole 2 hours we were there.

We will definitely be going back there next time we are over in Quesada.
