I was there in February for the first time since it changed from Wok. The food was gorgeous, very well presented by friendly and attentive staff and I'm looking forward to going again when next in CQ. Went for the 8.95 Thai set menu which was excellent value. House red was a tasty wine at a good price. Highly recommend this restaurant :D

I went to the Alibaba for the first time two weeks ago and was amazed how great the food was and the service was so friendly and welcoming. To make it even better the bill for 4 including three courses each two bottles of wine and two Baileys was just 42 euros. Of course went back again last week just two of us this time and it was just as good and again with wine and Baileys was just over 20 euros....amazing !!

We had lunch there today and it was exceptionally good. The service was friendly and fast, and we are definitely going back to try other dishes from a very extensive menu.

My o/h and I went to Alibaba last week on our return to CQ. Having been several times before, we were welcomed back like old friends. As usual we chose from the 8.95Euro set menu (3 courses and small beer/wine). The standard of food, varied choice and quantity were excellent. The 'small' glass of red wine was actually a fairly large glass filled almost to the brim and was a very good 'house' wine. We were there for hours chatting away and discovering lots of things about China and its people and their way of life, including the north/south divide - fascinating stuff.

We love this place but as we passed by pretty much every evening that week we could see it was very little used. I hope this is only a blip and not the norm for them as it would be a shame to lose this gem of a restaurant, especially when they are offering such lovely food at such a competitive price.

Come on folks, if you fancy a Chinese/Thai meal for less than you could cook it for yourself, then get yourself down to Alibaba and give them your support. :D
