Hi,I am considering having my pool surround redone and I was looking for some honest opinions from people that have had the “stone carpet” type product installed or reviewed it!!!

Hi we have solid edge round our pool...not stone carpet ...was a replacement for the old concrete individual slabs ..i would not recommend going for anything solid round pool as ours has cracked in 10 place not large but more than hair line and not easy to repair without noticing more than the cracks..we have a lot of movement in the ground here due to the shrinking of soil and movement from earthquakes ...with individual paving movement is easy to repair as will be between the slabs ..

Well worth a read and contacting those that commented for an update.

I had the entire back garden done, following 3 neighbours who'd had it done by the same company. The results were fabulous, but after the first season, I spotted several small holes appearing; the same thing happened to two other neighbours' carpet. The company in question said that it was a bad batch of resin, but having seen all the neighbours' gardens, I think the problem is if you have it in places of heavy wear, such as the weight of garden furniture sitting on it.

Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend it for large scale use and I wouldn't recommend the company we used. They did eventually come back to fix it, but were totally ungracious, no apology and they cleaned out their spray machines over an expensive, decorative olive tree, so it now has splodges of high shine resin on its bark and the surrounding terrazo. It wasn't the company already mentioned in this thread.
