Lo Marabu - Pool security entrance card change.

Hello to all on Lo Marabu,

If you haven't already heard there is a change to all the pool swipe cards. Apparently when our very expensive new card swiping electronic system was placed on the gates, it was to enable the Admin company to disconnect the pool cards of individual community charge non-payers. However we now find that the company who fitted the system have been unable to do these simple individual disconnections (I feel it is unbelievable that a system fitted for that very reason has been unable to fulfil that main obligation!)

Each and every card now has to be changed for a new one. All our cards have now been disconnected and cannot be used until a new one is collected from the Administrators offices in Torrevieja, an unnecessary inconvenience!. There is a letter on the gate to this affect.

Those who are not up to date with the community charge will not be issued with a card but for the rest of us, I assume, I.D. and the old card will need to be taken along to collect the new card. Not sure if there is a charge for this. Theoretically there shouldn't be, but I will try to email the Administrator to find out more - I will also try to find out if an alternative collection arrangement can be made.

What a joke. We had a similar problem at our apartment in Guardamar. The administrators (whose name I cant remember) were very good.We just went where they where in Guadamar, shown my passport and gave us a new key. I'm sure that if you don't take your passport they wont give you your new cards.
