After the red rain I sweep up and use a mop and bucket and tip the water down the drain. I do it this way not because I'm tight and don't want to pay for the water but because I think it's helping. Don't we have to get water from the North? We also wash the car at a car wash that recycle the water for the same reason.

A child's small paddling pool probably would not be a problem as they have a plug hole at bottom and would drain slowly. However a large sided pool would be a problem if the sides were squashed down so the water came out fast and cascaded in torrents down the street. Just use common sense I suppose and take out as much of the water as possible with buckets to water the garden and then there would not be much left to drain out.

Hi Chrisdee. I admire your resolve, dedication and patience regarding the cleaning up routine you have but we have every square inch of our property tiled and with roughly 300 masonry wall top balustrades surrounding it, I would say it would take us an eternity to do it the same way and god knows how many buckets of clean water it would need. In certain circumstances, a brief usage of a hose with a fine spray trigger nozzle fitted to the end of it wouldn't be so bad surely?
What I will say though is that I have been known to scrub and sweep the outside whilst it is raining with a few strange looks from the neighbours I might add

Sweep up ,Mop and Bucket, hand brush balastrudes off then a wipe down with damp cloth changing the water few times,useing this water to swill floor tiles down , its not rocket science,just time consuming,i,ve noticed if its a rental house the rentees just walk thru it ,walk it in , sit on dirty patio furniture, after all it aint there house ,could,nt care less attitude,were on holiday we aint cleaning,Ho!and we,ve just had one of our daily police patrols drive past ,as always.

Hi,please don't think all people who rent properties are all the same, we rented 3 times in Quesada and each time we have looked after each one and respected them as if they were our own

You will see if you read my post correctly that the water I was talking about was fresh water from a child's paddling pool . LOL ..Not swimming pool water.
