No your calculation is not correct, the purchase tax alone on a 160,000 property would be 16,000 in the Valencian community.



Agreed, but i was only talking about round about figures 160,000 Plus 16,000 would give 176,000 euros.

Just about my top end inclusive budget of 176,000 euros.

Yes but on top of the 16,000 tax, you still have to factor in all the legal costs of 2% to 3%. that would take you to about 180,000.

Many thanks for putting me right, its a cost that many people dont factor in when buying in Spain.

All i was trying to do was get some idea of costs involved in buying in Spain, if i were to buy i would be looking at properties of around 155,000 to 160,000 euros. to suit my budget of 175,000 180,000 euros.
