Worktop damage advice

One of my kitchen worktops has some surface damage on it. It looks like something has been spilled/splashed on it and removed the sheen on a couple of areas. Is there anyway this can be repaired. It always tends to look as if it has not been wiped down properly!

You could try WD40 or TCut used on cars. Be careful though.

If its marble/granite and the above DIY option doesn't solve it you could try Mike at Simplyprofloorcare.com, based in Los Montesinos. He resurfaced and polished our marble floors and staircase and does worktops too. His work was faultless and a good bloke too.
