Before you spend a lot of money try pulling out the freezer and look at the back... there is a grill thingy, give it a brush to remove any fluff etc... then see how it goes....

Hi,

Couple of quick checks,

1.Is it frost free ?
2.Is the compressor running (black pot at the back, it should be humming and quite warm) ?
3.Have you adjusted the thermostat to suit the weather ?
4.how old is it ?

Hi yes it's an American style frost free.
Can't tell if the compressor is running as it is all hidden underneath, can't check now as I am back in England.
No have not adjusted the thermostat but it had been running fine for a week.
It is five years old, but I am not in Spain enough so switched off most of the time.
Thanks

Was it just the fridge part that didn't get cold but the freezer still worked? Some American style fridge freezers have a small fan to push air from the freezer part into the fridge and that can stick sometimes.
