it doesn’t look as though we will be able to change our stone/marble steps for wooden ones so wonder if anyone can recommend a carpet shop that can supply and fit carpets,

Carpet Haven/Heaven in Los Montesinos or there are a few carpets warehouses in Crevillente, they may be cheaper ??

Why not buy some Carpet Stair pads and stick them down

I have the carpet stair treads. Great and have had them down for a few years. Bought them in Lidl but they only had them the one time.
Amazon UK does them (can't find the same thing on ES) as stair carpet treads.
