HARMONY FM - Back on Air - 96.7FM ** Updated: February 13th **

** Further to the theft of our transmission equipment on January 10th **

** We are delighted to advise that we are back on air as normal **

After a 'new' station appearing on our frequency, just 3 weeks after the theft, and with clear RDS identification, the identification was removed some days later, presumably due to the traceability of said station name, and its owner(s).

At that point, the music and RDS ceased and a silent carrier remained on the frequency.

During that phase we had triangulated the location of that transmission.

This location was more accurately pin-pointed on Sunday evening, when Harmony FM came back on air, with the net result that our signal swamped the other, other than in the immediate locality of it's source.

It is extremely timely that the offending signal has now apparently been turned off, because on Tuesday, Feb 14th, the location was to be passed to the various authorities.

On a more positive note - we are indebted to Richie Sparks for the loan of a transmitter, enabling us to be back on air from yesterday.

I can't imagine any other radio station owner in this region to be so selfless and helpful ... quite the contrary in fact.

It makes a refreshing change to know that someone else in the same 'generic business' can actually work together with another, without seeing a conflict of interest.
