Lovely budgie

Hi,
A lovely budgie has been in our garden for hours but I am afraid it will be at risk of predators. The other birds seem to accept it but I fear it is too tame to avoid any cats in the area. Has anyone lost this little bird??

Hi a few months back i offered on here "Mischevious Budgies" free as our budgies breed like mad, & we got no takers, i fear it may be the same for you, if so i would either release it back to the wild, they are hardy little souls, or take it in to a pet shop, i would suggest Madagascar, round the corner from Consum at Lo Marabu, they would find a home for it. Good luck to you & the bird.

Thanks for your reply. I haven't actually attempted to catch it and it was back in the garden this morning feeding off my bird table with all the sparrows etc!!! I have just observed it and it now seems to be 'Top Bird' as it is feeding from my bird house feeder and actually sending off all the other little birds! Clearly it is holding its own out there and is very welcome to live in my garden! I just hope someone's cat doesn't get it!! Fingers crossed for its survival. jacqui

Cats are a big problem, They come in to our Garden, Urinate & defecate over garden furniture cusions, if in the warm weather we leave the doors open they hear the birds whistle & come in the house & attack the cages, People that feed these ferral cats do not realise there are big fines for people who get reported. we no longer have Blackbirds singing in our garden, as nests destroyed & chicks killed. Just have to hope the council round the cats up & take them away.
Just hope your Budgie stays alert.

Thanks for your info. I will keep my eyes open for cats...always irritating when they aren't yours! Like you we have to pack up all cushions etc every night to avoid them being used and covered in cat hair!

Just a thought, if you do want to tempt it to your hand, try offering a stick of Celery, Budgies love it, if it has had some before & will recognise it, once tasted they don't forget it, Lettuce leaf is good to, but Celery will win it round

Cats are scared of balloons, hate pepper and will not die if you throw a bucket of water over them
I have both, birds and cats…~
Don’t kill what you can’t make yourself……

Both want to live, both are hungry, both can be your friend
