Awww, that's really great news mondo. There is nothing quite like the love of an animal. I think it is their vulnerability that makes them so adorable. There is really something very special about it.

We have a basement so I will heed your advice.

Delighted she’s back safe I had a few feelings she may be shut in somewhere. Thank goodness she was found when she was and good advice of yours - can’t think why people would want to leave a window open as who knows who or what might get in

It was an underbuild and I can see that it might get musty without ventilation, so opening a window would help with that. A mozzie net on the basement window would also allow ventilation without the danger of finding dessicated cat, rat, or dog in your property when arriving back in Spain..Let's hope someone sees this and takes heed.
Loulou is fine now, eating a lot and looks a bit traumatized, but all is well with her
