Just travelled back to uk from Alicante on Sunday. I noticed there are a lot of interior security gates for passport control on the way to gate 29, just passed the new sports bar. I wondered if this could be some preparation for brexit. Has anyone heard what it’s for?

I would imagine it wouldn't be for Brexit, as no one actually knows when or if it is going to happen, it is probably just an upgrade on airport security, bearing in mind the world we are now living in.

Passport control checks for non-Schengen country nationals. The UK has never been part of the Schengen countries anyway, so nothing to do with Brexit. This will facilitate self-service passport scan and most likely be placed to try and mitigate the long queues at passport control.
