Corvera airport route (Murcia International airport)

Hi, I have to go to Corvera airport soon and I see three routes offered on my nav app. Anyone with experience of what route they chose would be helpful. I cannot remember how many toll money stops there are if you choose the simple route past the old St Javier, Murcia airport which seems a reasonable bet. When recently in Murcia I think Corvera was appro. 25 Kms south or below where I was. Also, as Corvera has only opened since January this year it isn't on google earth to check parking and any height restrictions as I have a van. Loved St Javier but I guess Corvera must be a bigger airport......maybe.

I’ve just collected and returned guests to Corvera.

The route I took was AP7 (2 x €2.20 tolls) to just before the old Saint Javier Airport (exit 782) and then the RM 19 north west. At the end of RM19 keep left and follow signs for Cartagena. This will deposit you onto the A30 heading south and then, within two Kilometers, the RM16 will take you to the airport.

Sadly, the signage for the airport is sadly scant, other than from off the A30 and towards the Terminal Building.

I found Corvera just a little larger than Saint Javier. It’s nowhere near as large or as busy as Alicante. There’s precious little, other than a Costa Coffee or WHS Smiths, Landside and, apparently, there’s bugger all Airside, save a couple of vending machines.

Personally, other than being nearer Murcia, my thoughts were that it was a project to satisfy someone’s vanity

Did you notice any height restrictions for dropping or picking up people at the airport?

The car park is similar to the one at Saint Javier, ground level with shades. There are no restrictions on the entrance or exit and the routes through the car park are unrestricted.

Departures is at the end of the Terminal building nearest the car park entrance and the pay station is, like Saint Javier, across the service road from Arrivals on the car park side

Thanks for both replies. Easy trip up but not quite on the ball returning as sat nav kept saying turn off at exits LOL. Will have to try harder for the return trip soon.

Glassful, I always drive past zoco market then straight over junction at Los Montesinos towards San Miguel, it is on 2 mins slower than AP 7 but saves one toll charge which is around 4 euros in summer, well worth an extra 2 mins drive for me.

Is Murcia International Airport easy to find. I'm driving from Catral/Crevillente on 24th February.

Thank you for any advice as I've always traveled from Alicante Airport.
