Thank you for your response, an interesting reply.... My post was to let people know that they are not, unfortunately, entitled to the EU261 compensation and I included official websites that validated that fact. My own experience and that of others has validated that the refund system employed by Ryanair doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

With regard to the refunds: You are obviously the chosen one... Have you received your refund? I've receive an acknowledgement and a promise that my EC261 compensation claim will be looked into. I also eventually managed to send an email requesting that Ryanair refund my for my cancelled flights. Knowing the Ryanair business model I'm not holding my breath. However, I'm a bit of an awkward git with lots of time, I can feel a project on the horizon!

Wait till RA send an email with the link for a refund. There the reservation code is already inserted. Fill the remainder in and submit claim. Then it should claim should be valid.

Ryanair abide by the same rules as everyone else..I work for another airline and can assure you that is fact. The only difference is they have a higher volume and therefore receive more negative press than anyone else. There is a very simple choice for everyone, you can fly with them or not but I can assure you that should the same happen with BA, Vueling, etc the refund and compensation processing is exactly the same...you’ve just paid more for your original ticket...

The tried and tested way to get your refund is to wait for the email. It contains a personalised link and worked first time. Saves you anxiety of trying endlessly and failing, like I did!
The email will arrive. Just relax and wait for it.

I have 2 cancelled flights and was able to submit my claim for refunds for both flights.
Go into Ryanair.com and open 'My Bookings' top right of page. A page with heading 'Retrieve you booking' opens and you log into your account using your Email address and password. A 'My Trips' page opens and your flight will be shown in a box with 'CANCELLED' written in red in it. Click on the word 'Reservation' at the top right of the box and a page heading ' There's a disruption to your trip' opens. Click on the blue 'get refund' box top right and a 4 step process opens which you complete withal your flight detail, :- Reservation number, airline code where you have 3 options, I choose Ryanair(FR) which displayed FR in the airline code below and I entered 2796 as my flight was FR2796. Use capital letters when adding in your names. You then choose whether your claim is for all persons booked on a single flight or just one leg of the journey etc. Further boxes will open if just one leg of the flight or if it effects not all the people on your booking. Complete these boxes by adding in the names of everybody. Finally at the bottom of the page add in the code they provide and if it does not accept the code then go back and find the error. It took me a while to find my errors but it will definitely accept your submission. A final page opens with a heading 'Thank you for your refund application' GOOD LUCK .Ray
