My grandson is coming to visit in June, he is 20 and is on the lower end of the Asperger’s spectrum. Thus suffers from anxiety, he is travelling with someone and came once before but got very overwhelmed going through security, things are busier now and lots of queuing, which I really don’t think he will cope with, so is there a fast track security for people with his problems so he can just go straight though? I can only think for him to apply for a sun flower lanyard, any help much appreciated, sorry for the long post

When booking flights ask for assisted passage, my husband and I use it all the time but we have wheelchairs, but when you get to the uk airport just explain to the person on the desk that you don’t need a wheelchair but you do need assistance and they will take him through booking in, passports, and security exactly the same as wheelchair users. When we returned from Uk in January there was a young person with us who had Epilepsy and he had an attendant to help him through. The person he is traveling with can stay with him all the time. Hope this is helpful for you and that your grandson has a wonderful holiday.

Hi
Whichever airline you booked through? Will have special assistant department that you call before flight and then go to there special assistant checking desk at airport. My best mate needs lift on off aircraft and it’s a fantastic service both ends. Hope that helps

I have special assistance due to mobility problems and on my last flight there was a young man who walked with us accompanied by an assistant. I presume he had mental issues of some description.
Although you still have to go through security and customs you are whizzed through. I book mine through my airline, Vueling.

Is there a special assistance desk at Alicante airport or do I just go to the information desk?

There is a special assistance desk at Alicante airport, but you have to have pre-booked it. They are very kind and helpful and take you to the aircraft. This is a free service.

Go in the main door for departures and turn left. The special assistance desk is on your left some way down after the information desk.
